official_style
just installed a moose stator in each of my 2 banshees. one starts, but runs like shit and misses at high rpms. the other one has no spark. i know it was not install error, i have installed over 20 stators and never had a problem, not even once. any ideas, or are these things just fucking junk like ricky stator bullshit? i knew i should have stayed with oem ones. sheerider1026
why is it so diffucult for these aftermarket companies to make a good quality stator for the banshee??? i have always wondered..
official_style
i have no idea, but i learned my lesson, im only running a stock stator, or a rewind if i ever find someone good to do it. the moose ones i got look just like ricky stator ones. even says made in china on the box. probably from the exact same sweatshop lol. sheerider1026
yea.. a stator is a simple deal really.. they must be using the cheapest wire they can find to wind these things up.. a good oem stator is the way to go!!
LS1Inferno
I would like a better stator too, but am not spending that much cash on all this junk out there. Im going to take one of my OEM ones and buy me a spool of magnet wire and do it my damn self. If i successfully get a good HO stator ill post a how-to. If i dont, ill just float my stock stators ground an convert to DC, just use it as charging circuit, doesn't really need much output to keep a little 12V battery powered up. jbooker82
I think I would try a Ricks Electric Motor Sports Stator. The pickup coil looks to be made differently. The housing is different shape. The Rick Stator and RM stator's all look to have the same pickup. There stator is about the most expensive stator out there other than a new oem. I would only buy it from them though so if you have warrenty issues your not trying to deal with a 3 rd party member on ebay. Ricks seems to be a mom and pop shop for now. Kind of like how ricky stator started out as. http://www.ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/pr...DRZYW1ZRlozNTA= http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...sspagenameZWDVW
