I checked the national weather service for maysville it shows less than inch over the last three days including today. If you go to there web site from wilmington ohio and click on maysville on the map and scroll down you will find a three day history it is a chart with time of day and other info such as rain fall.

Just talked to indybuck on the phone. He says they went out today and the trails were tacky and down in the woods had wet spots. He said it's not that bad. I'm still undecided.

This image is still in my head from the last HQ ride!

ON a more sobering note..........don't let you ego write checks your banshee and body can't cash. Great learning experience for me. Here's the story for those of you who weren't there.....

We go to this location that has a heavy soaked creek basin and you can see how the water washes down the hills surrounding it making for some pretty slick conditions. Being that I have always gotten up most every hill I have seen I figured I could go up one of these even though the conditions were pretty challenging. This hill I tried had no run-up and was slippery at the base to say the least. I start up it and not thinking this through put the weight over the rear axle and she actually got through the slick stuff okay, then the tackier section the bashee starts to grab. Before I knew it the handle bars were on there way to serve me lunch and now on a nice steep slick grade I get to try to jump clear of a now 400 lb machine out of control I made it clear for the most part, but I still got a small exhaust burn on my shoulder (hardly noticeable) and a nice raspberry on my chest from the handle bars but no broken bones. Now for the funny part: The Banshee wasn't through with the show by a long shot. It manages to turn itself around and nose first goes perfectly down the slope headed for the next worst area: The creekbead with some heavy slop that only means its winch time. It goes down the kill and jumps the fallen tree and lands squarely in the creek bed with its wheels stuck out (Broken tied rod end) and nicely planted.

Folks......it gets even better. Its pretty clear we need a four wheel drive quad with a winch to take mine out. Toolman (I still owe him money for the two spark plugs he gave me that morning) goes off to get help. Being that he knew where we were and how to get help back to us he heads up the creek. Looks like we got a plan to deal with the ego trip gone wrong. Well, it looked good until he hits the creek in a worse area that my Banshee got stuck in . The whole thing was making me believe higher forces were at work here. We all look down to where he was and some of us saw his Banshee just kind of sink in to this with mud roostering it up. Now things are looking bleak.

Along come the Quad family (Arctic Cats and a Polaris Four Wheel drive) with a winch. Pretty nice people and super cool by my book. The guy ropes his Polaris to a tree and winches me right out. Toolman's Shee was a little more challenging given the fact that the area his was in was soupier and not as mush room to work, but he got his out too.

The biggest regret of course was not catching this on video. As IndianapolisBuck told me later "It would have made a great "Watch and Learn" video.

Mispelled saved the day having a spare tie rod end (the only casualty btw) and I still owe him $5 balance on it (tie rods ends aren't cheap I have found out) and I owe him bigtime for it.

The ride (other than this mishap) was pretty amazing. Probably have had the most fun this year there than anywhere else I have ridden. Lots of trails and room to ride. The countryside is pretty nice and the park, although hard to figure out direction at first, has some pretty nice trails. Bare in mind, we stuck to the drier areas as a group but all in all I had a great time. I got out of my mishap with no broken bones, some lost time, and the Shee was still operable and finished the day on a high note.
