Keyser Soze
Yea Banshees are way to hard to work on with all of the cutting edge technology they utilize. You had better get a new 450. A lot easier to deal with. Edited May 11, 2009 by jugriggs
Bill
Check the pickup gap. Don't give up on her they are good running machines once you know how to set them up.

wacko2000
Swap out spark plug boots, coil, stator, check all connects. Do a compression test and see what happens
sled
Swap out spark plug boots, coil, stator, check all connects. Do a compression test and see what happens thats a lot of shit to swap out lol. I would start by checking the coil after it shuts off. weird my buddies 99 use to do this last year sometimes. he never figured it out and it hasn't done it yet this year. Rodneya
Do you think a 10 year old 450, if there was such an animal would be in perfect shape. Don't blame the machine, especially if you know nothing about fixing it. In 10 years, countless idiots could have fucked with it. There are quiet a few banshees from the 80's still running strong on the forum. Weather it is a Banshee or 450, it is going to have problems sooner or later. Buy a manual and start learning or gibe up on owning a quad.

Bansh-eman
a motor needs three things to run. Air, Fuel and Spark. If you are missing one of these it wont run. So start at the begining of one and start eliminating everything. I would begin with spark.
