Sounds like a nice truck, specially with only 50k miles on it. Do you know what type of programming/other mods you want to go with?

Diesels are fun to Bomb

i think i'm gonna go with the edge juice with attitude as far as other mods thats probably it for now till i have to do the tranny then i will probably go with suncoast.

How much boost are you planning on pushing with it?

Yea you really can't go wrong with Edge products, they've been around for awhile and usually don't have issues.

Get some pictures up of the truck!

PPE excellerators are a bad ass programmer for a duramax

Both PPE and EFI Live are good choices for the Duramax. Just depends whether you want a plug and play tuner (PPE), or if you like to do a lot of custom tuning (EFI Live).

Just be careful with the stock Allison, you will break/shorten it's lifespan dramatically if you start running 90+ HP on stock tranny.

ya i know. i kinda started thinkin about waiting on the programming till im out of warranty,i know that gm is starting to deny any powertrain warranty claim if there is any trace of an aftermarket tune in the ecm. i will post some pics as soon as i can find my digital camera.

The other thing with EFI live is that if you do not really know what the hell you are doing, you can damage stuff fast. Personally for a daily driver/toy hauler, i would go with a plug in play unit and be done. I have had great luck with edge juice so wouldn't hesitate to go there. I just recently pulled about 150 HP out of my truck. It was fun as a toy, but just was too much drama towing heavy. Trust me when i tell you its easy to go too far with the HP game.
