Blew up Banshee

Recommended Posts

will it be together before the haspin ride?

Not sure, I'm gonna say no since today is the 27th of April and the ride is May 17th-18th..I'm gonna see if my bud will let me take his RM250 so I can still go though. He let me take it out Saturday to go riding since I blew my shit up so I'm thinkin he won't mind.

I already talked to Brandon at WILDCARD Racing. I need a set of pistons, gonna have him do a port, bore out the cylinders and I also need a new crank or a newer one. I've already ordered all the seals and gaskets for it and a new head...I am going to try and get it done by the trip. I need to go tomorrow and get a rubbermaid tub to ship the cylinders to him in.

Well now you can sit back and watch hockey playoffs.....oops, low blow!!!!!!

Ha ha ha... I guess you have to be from MI to appreciate that. :)

I agree, with a healthy motor you should be able to run WOT for a long time.

Jetting, timing, all that comes into play.

You need to make sure you can keep fuel in the bowls as well, one thing often overlooked is the screen for the fuel valve (plugged) and the vent tube for the gas cap. Either of those plugged won't be a huge deal putzing through trails, but....WOT for extended periods of time, it will cause issues.

i have a tdr trued and welded crank but it has seen alot of passes and had some nitromethane ran on it so it probably does'nt have alot of life left in it...sorry.i toasted my new motor friday night(waterpump impeller)and had to use my only other good crank...seen some wiseco stock replacement cranks for 289.00 on ebay with bearings and seals.

Someone on here can hook you up with a good used crank. Ive seen trued and welded ones go for $125 in the for sale section. Get your top end squared away. You have 2 1/2 weeks you can make the Haspin trip man!

I'm gonna try buddy..If not hopefully my ole pal will let me take the RM.

If it is set up right you can pin it forever and it will just keep going.

Wrong. You'll drain the bowls and lean it out. I've seen it done too many times. You can't leave a Banshee pinned forever or it WILL blow it up and I'd almost guarantee this is what blew Mike's up. This is why they make aftermarket bowls and dual pingel fuel petcocks.
