in helmet music

Recommended Posts

I know most of you wear headphones or have speakers in your helmet. But, once again i got bored.... I found room and added a amplified speaker system to my helmet. yes its overboard, obnoxious, unnecessary, not safe, ect ect.....but its loud! I wont be riding with it all the way up but it is nice to know i don't have to worry about wind noise anymore. Its powered by 3 AAA batteries and everything is small enough to fit in the nose without being too close. The vid's sound sucks. it actually sounds alot clearer, and you can easily hear it from 10' away from the helmet.

Man i gotta stop getting bored.

I had to go with ear buds because i couldnt hear the music unless I was low rpm...But i have gotten almost all of my dune'n crew onto listen to music while they ride. FYI JasonsBanshee if you cant ride by the feel of the quad then I dont know what to tell you on that part. I guess I have built in for riding so long

FYI GrMeyer, I've been riding for 25 years so I'd say it's safe to say I've got plenty of seat time. If you have music blaring in your ears when you're riding, you can't hear your motor. Unless you have a tach to tell you where you're at on your RPMs then you won't know when to shift. I'm sure you could train yourself to feel for it, but it's not for me. I bought an ipod just for riding and tried it for about 20 minutes. I found myself concentrating to hard on what gear I was in and when to shift. Took the fun out of riding.

Thats why I have never even tried riding with headphones in. Iam like you, I could probably manage to ride ok but it would seem like a hassle. I like to know if the motor is making any kinda funny noises, pops sputters, ect..

Overall to me having tunes while Iam riding just doesn't seem worth the hassle.. To each their own though..
