JasonsBanshee
What's everyone's take on cutting pistons? I don't know if I should cut mine or not for my 4 mil build. I'm not building a full blown drag bike but it will be a hill shooter port. I told Jeff that I want as extreme as I can get but still be able to hit the trails when I want to. toolman
Not sure if are you talking about the same thing . I did a post last week I was told to notch the top of my new pistons to match the port openings on the cylinders. I'm not going to do it but I had never heard any thing like this here. They said Vito sells pistons like this made by Wiseco.
sheefreak
No, I think he is talking about opening up the windows. There is definately no need to cut on the top of the piston if Jeff is porting his cyls for him. And no, I would not mess w/cutting your pistons. JasonsBanshee
Yea, I'm talking about opening up the windows. Jeff will be doing my port work for the 4mil.
sheefreak
A lot of times cutting on the windows will only end up in broken piston skirts. Many will argue it makes little to no difference anyway. And for a motor you are not trying to squeeze every last ounce of HP out of, it would only be making it more unreliable.
