YFZ 450 shocks for my Banshee

Recommended Posts

from what I have researched, they will make a great improvement, and they are hard to find for less than that. that ill be my next upgrade,

hope that helps.

I'm thinking about grabbing a set of 2008 YFZ450SE front shocks off ebay. Are they worth 300 bucks? will they make a big diff on the shee?

what makes the a-arms and shocks better on the yfz's? Just wondering what the difference is.

Covered quite a bit in the suspension forum, but in short, a-arms are essentially +2 +1 as compared to the stock suspension. Shocks are much more adjustable than the stock banshee shocks; especially the SE shocks.

Ryan, I ran a set of SE shocks for about a year and a half and was very happy with them, before switching to YFZ450R shocks. As mentioned, you won't find them much cheaper than the $300. People are a little resistant to the price compared to regular YFZ shocks, but that is what people are willing to pay (i.e. fair, going price), so it's just an adjustment. You should like them!

So $300 IS a reasonable price for the SE's then. I've been shopping for a set for about six months or so and those babies sell like hotcakes. I'm keeping the stock A-arms (for now) so I am not expecting a huge night-and-day difference, but I hope they will be an improvement over my worn out stockers especially on braking (nose dive).

Plus I think they make a banshee look sweeter  like that

I picked up a set for 115.00 shipping and all off eBay a month or two ago that look just like the ones in your picture. I'm running mine with Full Flight +3+1 FOR YFZ SHOCKS ,Silver vein, with the Chromoly heims. the bike rides great, but it sets a little higher.

start looking for +2+1 a arms, the stock arms will be put under alot of pressure from the yfz I broke a ball joint on the lower arm on mine, the se are hi/lo compression adjustable with stock arms go all the way out on both adjustments the lo speed is the large nut and the hi speed is the screw.. i think there is a sticky on yfzcentral for those, after you get some aftermarket arms you will really be able to play with the adjustments i like a stiffer lo speed and softer hi speed on mine.

and those are se shocks for sure the way to tell the difference is the step on the bottom of the ressy on normal yfz they are smooth all the way down on se's they have that step on them.
