MAICK Posted April 10, 2009 Report Share Posted April 10, 2009 have any of you guys or gals that oredered new cpi pipes had them come with to chrome already chiping off? i just got a set today and the left pipe has all these specs right near the begining of the pipe, where the chrome was chipping i tried to call them today and all i got was the ansering machine. im kinda bummed about it i really wanted to put them on this weekend. i wouldnt bug me to much but man them things aint cheap. oh well shit happens they should take care of it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted April 10, 2009 Report Share Posted April 10, 2009 I have a older set of unstamped pipes. a little surface rust near the welds but no chips but i would think he would fix that problem for you. keep HQ updated. this could be critical to there sales if they fuck you. Same pipes here. Same issue around the hangers. Other then that the chrome is good. I heard that the new pipes are chromed terribly. Should have bought them and had them chromed yourself. They just recently got a new chromer or chrome tank or something so that might be why yours turned out that way. But just get in touch with them and I'm positive that they will rectify the matter. AWR Posted April 10, 2009 Report Share Posted April 10, 2009 i have cpi's on my bike now(they were on it when i got it)but i have bought pipes from them that look terrible-as in holes in the welds and you could peel the chrome off the stingers!!!but they still ran awsome and the jb weld smeared on them gave them character.good luck getting them fixed without YOU paying for shipping-i know this from first hand experience..peace Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

CPI and Shearer both have sketchy chrome. Some times it is ok and other have have massive peeling problems. That is why I tell peopel until I am blue in the face if the chrome job matters to you then get them from cascade. They have the chrome done to their standard which is quite a bit higher than CPI's or Shearers. My CPI's from cascade look like this today. Amen brother should have bought my cpis from cascade but was trying to save a buck.Cascade buys them raw pressure checks the cpis and fixes the leaks and send them out for chroming .
