Dinner Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) Bought this truck last weekend, then picked it up yesterday. So far it is stock except for a DSS Steering Stabilizer that was thrown on by the previous owner. Has a few things that need to be done to the body, but other than that it is a pretty clean truck. Going to be swapping parts from my dually over to this thing as time goes on. First thing will be a fully built transmission, then head studs and o-rings. Once I get those 2 things done then I'll start adding the fuel to it. But yea, here are a few pictures, enjoy. Didn't take any pictures of the passenger side since the sun made it too dark. Onesickcrewcab Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Nice. What are you doing with your other truck? Quote
TNTS355 Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 i say you puss out again That is an excellent truck. I drive an 03 Cummins myself, it is the best truck I have ever owned! You will love that thing, are you going to put it on veggie oil? Quote
Dinner Posted April 6, 2009 Author Report Posted April 6, 2009 Nice. What are you doing with your other truck? I'm going to be using it for parts as of right now. Probably pull the engine and tear it down for shits and giggles. I might also use the block off my dually so that I can mock up a twin set up easily. That is an excellent truck. No, no veggie oil, if anything I will mix 2 stroke oil with my fuel. I'm excited to start building it up though, stock trucks are so slow  Quote
Dinner Posted April 12, 2009 Author Report Posted April 12, 2009 (edited) Got around to swapping my gauges over from the Dually. Had to wait for a new A-Pillar mount to come in which took a bit. So far only Boost and Tranny are functioning since I havn't swapped over my HT Turbo/Exhaust Manifold (don't feel like drilling and tapping my stock exhaust manifold for EGT Gauge) and AirDog lift pump. rubberneck Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 What tranny you going to go with? 4 wheel drive boost launches are fucking cool. At a minimum go with the billet output, cause you know you're gonna race it at least once or twice Quote
bonbon Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Looks good dinner! I was looking for a truck a lot like that one when I ended up with my 06. I'm still partial to the older body style, 94-02. Quote
rubberneck Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 im looking for an 06 dually 6 speed 4x4. Negotiable on color and options but must be 6speed, must be dually, must be 4x4 if anybody sees one let me know. Would prefer 06 specifaclly, or 07 5.9 but would settle for 05 probably. Quote

At a minimum go with the billet output, cause you know you're gonna race it at least once or twice I will be going with a tranny from Dave at Goerend. Will be getting the regular built transmission plus a few other goodies, but I'm just not 100% yet on what I should go with. Either Tranny + Billet Flex and Billet Input.....Or....Tranny+ Billet Flex and Billet Output. Reason being for the input is at least if the output breaks (I don't do very many boosted launches) it is easier to replace than the Input. Then again I might cancel the Billet Flex, and get both Billet In and Out...hmm decisions :geek: The other thing too that might catch me is Labour (though a tranny place should be able to R&R fairly quickly). I live quite aways away from Dave so purchasing a tranny and getting is shipped here would be huge amounts of $$$$$$$. So I figure I might as well drive to him, or one of his installers and get it done over a weekend (hopefully). Looks good dinner! And apparently the 03's have quite the fuel system/injector issues. Also, the price of bombing out a CR is pretty pricey compared to the VP44 24 Valve. Edited April 13, 2009 by Dinner Quote
rubberneck Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Since you are in canada why not go with bill over at DTT. I havent' kept up on the auto world, but for a while he was the shit. I drove a couple of his trans and were very impressed. I have heard good stuff about goerend however. Quote

I know quite a few people with Goerend and DTT trannies and they seem to be very happy. Quote
rubberneck Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 http://www.dieseltrans.com/ It says sardis BC, canada. I dont know how close that is to you. Bill kondolay is the owner. Met him a couple of times. He can be stubborn and opinionated, but when he sets your tranny up it works right. Quote
MikeNick Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Nice truck Craig..I have been wanting to a get a Cummins myself.. Probably a 12 valve though. Quote
