That seems like big durations for an oem cylinder. If i were you id put it all together torque it all down and measure how much of the piston sticks out of the cylinder with your base gasket add whatever squish you are planning on running then have your domes made from that. IMO 40 squish is to tight I would go with 45-
sheefreak
I have run .037 no problem on stock cyl setup. I would be fine w/.040. JMO. If you look at the dome there is an actual "band"on the outside radius of the dome. It then opens up into its concave shape. that flat area of the dome is the squish band. Squish is just short for squish clearance. It is the closest part of the dome to the piston and this is where you measure your clearance so your piston won't smash into the dome. trex banshee
.040 is what i try to get all my motors towards. Well the important ones that is. If its a stocker i get them to .050-.
bansheeqc
Thank everyone for the reply! I just check my squish on my two drag bike. 1) 4 mill stock cylinder pd 18cc machined (0,080) for the extra strock, 0,010 gasket, squish : 0,057 but not enought place into the center of the dome ( i'm about 210 psi) 2) stock stroke, pd18cc unmachined, 0,010 gasket squish : 0,047, i'm at 180 psi I think i have to much squish, what do you think?
