extreem9
So I might go back to pump gas from 110, I have a 4mill with CPIS and my carbs are 28's. How much power do you all think I am going to loose, will it be alittle noticable or VERY noticable?

How much power do you all think I am going to loose, will it be alittle noticable or VERY noticable? Are you changing from the 17cc domes in your sig? If not, I'd be careful since your compression ratio might not allow you to run pump gas. SP
extreem9
Yeah I plan to get some 19cc domes and have them cut for my 4mill. The guy at cascade innovations said I should think about running 20cc's but I think it will be ok. And I am going to put the timing back to 3 or 4 degrees. I am running 21cc domes in my 4mil with a ratio of 14.8:1 and static compression of 185psi plus I am at a higher elevation (around 900ft, your in Oregon, right?) . Thus the need for race fuel. Guess with a higher exhaust port height your compression could be less. SP
extreem9
WOW 185 with 21cc thats crazy! yeah I ride in Oregon but I live in Washington. Yeah I dont think my porting is anything crazy (yet), i think my compression ratio is at 175 right now. I do plan to go back to race fuel and do more to her eventualy, but this year money is tight and 100 bucks plus a trip is alittle out of my reach.

I have some buddies with 4mills and if they start crap I want to be able to go back to the 110 and beat there ass again!
Snopczynski
To run 92 in that thing your gonna need around 155-160 psi compression. Dan Wade from Patriot Racing lives in Bonney Lake, I am sure he can set you up with new domes if you need them. To me its not worth changing out my domes for the loss in power due to low compression. That and the 110 makes the bike run cooler. I burn about 10-15 gallons of race gas on a 3 or 4 day trip. Its only an extra $70-$100 for a lot more fun!
BillyRay
I was thinking about doing the same thing with my 4 mill also. But after thinking about it for a while I have come to the conclusion that the lower compression is not worth it. When I ride my bike I only use six to eight gallons of 110 per trip. I feel that 110 fuel is cheap insurance as you never know what you are getting for fuel out of the pump, and motor parts are more expensive. If I go back to pump gas I will only be doing it for this year. I love the power but I like being able to afford to go to the dunes more, ya know. I use atleast 10 to 15 on her for a weekend just on mine. But I totaly hear what you are saying, I will probably just put the wifes bike to pump gas and keep mine on race we will see. Its a tough call.

The auburn 76 off main street across from auburn high school. Its 110 sunoco leaded out of the pump. Its NOT the place on Auburn way by the chevrolet dealer. swrbansheeboy
i'm sure someone will dissagree with me on this but it is my belief that race gas doesnt get you any added power, it actualy allows you to run higher compression or advanced timing which is what actualy gives you the added power. the higher octain fuel is harder to ignite so when you bump compression or timing it keeps the fuel from igniting too soon and causing detonation... as for where to get it, i have a cfn card and several cfn stations have 110 sunoco at the pump. the last time i purchased 110 it was going for around $5.85 a gallon. we have a cfn about a block from where i keep our bikes so it works out pretty well.... Snopczynski
110 will keep even a stock motor running cooler that pump gas.

Yeah I totaly agree with you compression adds horse power but to have a higher octane to have higher compression.
