bama boy
Need some input on this. I was thinking of going to a single carb set up. Only mods are pipes, k&n/no air box, +3 timing key, and bored .40 over. What all do I have to buy to do this or should i just leave the dual carb on it? I'm a big fan of the single carb but it's super dependant on the tuning. Dual carbs are more forgiving with your jetting being a little off. What is your ride style and brand of pipes? bama boy
I have fmf gold series pipes. This is my first banshee so Im not comfortable enough yet to ride hard. I will open it up on straight aways but mainly trails. This may sound bad but i am still afraid of it! The weather in minnesota sucks so bad right now and cant wait for summer so i can get used to it and ride the hell out of it. So basically with that should i just stay with the duals until i ride better or go ahead with the single?
TwistedSheeRida
the single carb set up is mainly used to get a better low end pull out of your bike. i see a lot of trail riders on here running them i personally like the dual carb setup and i ride trails but im wide open a lot of the time. I think it would benefit your riding style. As far as what you need for it check the for sale forum out people are always selling these on here

bama boy
fmf gold series. Dont really like them they are a plain metal color. I would like to get some toomey's. They sound so sweet.
sredish
They sound so sweet. first lesson: don't buy pipes for sound. buy pipes based on what matches your ride style, they'll all sound good.
Snopczynski
2nd lesson: don't run a low-mid carburetor setup like the 2 into 1 with mid-top pipes like fmf gold series or toomey T5's..
bama boy
Thanks for that advice. I am still new at this. Im learning more and more each day by reading all this stuff on the hq. I may just leave it dual carb and get some bigger ones. What size do you suggest?
sredish
Thanks for that advice. I am still new at this. Im learning more and more each day by reading all this stuff on the hq. I may just leave it dual carb and get some bigger ones. What size do you suggest? again, you need to tell us what kind of riding you do, trail, dune, drag, mx, and so on. In all honesty, going to bigger dual carbs is not something I recommend on a stock port motor, and honestly, I don't really recommend anything larger than 28mm or 30mm carbs unless the person drag races... on a stock bore/stroke motor, 28mm will do whatever you need. And for that matter, you can have the stockers bored out to 28mm a lot cheaper than buying a pair. i still say go with a single carb.... unless you are going to be duning/dragging only.
