rubberneck
I didn`t have my stocker with me basically blew the weekend. Never will I buy there products again. There have been lots of weekends ruined by ricky stator garbage around here lately. We should sticky a big old thread that says dont buy ricky stator, but if you do make sure you take your stocker with you. Any more since i roll 2 the dunes with 3 banshees, i take a spare coil, cdi, stator gasket kit and just about everything else i can get my hands on as spare parts. Starting to get rediculous. dajogejr
Yes Sir... I have a spare everything with me, including a wiring harness (no BS). I've had to swap out a stator track side twice in the last two years.....
rubberneck
Anymore, i have to ask myself if it is worth fixing at the dunes, or just parking it and enjoying the cold beverages in the ice chest.
GNR101
i had one of these crappy stators till today.... my bike would run like crap in band and lights were no brighter than 2 candles on the front of my bike.
Midway USA
Did you put the new stator on because you had a problem and needed a new stator to fix it? Or did you put it on just to increase the wattage for the lights? I was misled into thinking that the stator would help the lights. I talked to a guy at Ricky Stator and he told me that with the high output stator the lights at dead idle would be dimmer than the stock one. They were. I am trying to improve the lighting at idle but short of buying one of their flyhweels or going to a battery setup I was told it wouldn't happen. We ride at the dunes after dark some and when you go through a turn and the rpm drops the lights suck. Any suggestions? I did find the issue with the thing not starting. They pinched the insulation on one of the ignition wires and it would intermittently ground out. Got that heat shrank and all reassembled without any wires pinched. How many people don't actually have any problems with these stators? The local Yamaha parts guy swears by them and says the Moose ones and others they have tried are worse yet. Try wiring in a large capacitor to store energy so that at idle it'll be pulling juice from that
Snopczynski
I have had a few problems with the stators, and even more problems with the flywheel rivets coming loose.
Ben350
I went threw so many of their stators and flywheels before finally giving up and telling them i dont want anymore warrantied parts, went back to stock parts and been great ever since. If you do run a stator or flywheel from them, i highly recommend always having a towstrap with you and bringing your stock parts as spares, you will need both. I wasted way too much time with them.
