j arm straight to yfz 450

i can weld i was just thinking of buying a set 06yfz450 full flight racing a arms +2 no shocks for 250.00 and one needs a ball joint what do you think. im sorry im a noob to banshees trying to learn info with j arms

As long as you can weld anything is possible although i am not sure about using a +2 yfz arm that will be about 8.50 inches (total) wider than the banshee for $250 you can get a set of stock yfz450 arms with good ball joints and s set of shocks. it would be about 4.50 inches wider than stock (basically a +2+1) i just did my swap last week and am very happy so good luck either way you chose.

Yeah, would have to agree that YFZ +2 Arms would be WAY to wide once on your Banshee to really be useable. Stock YFZ arms and my ITP wheels make the front of my bike track as wide as my buddies stock Rhino, so +2 YFZ, yikes. My recommendation would be to take some measurements off an a-arm bike, weld mounts in that location and then run modified arms, if you want to do the YFZ conversion. My rationale for that is this; the "benefit" of the YFZ conversion is that you not only get wider suspension now, but you leave the bike unmolested so you can always upgrade to aftermarket arms down the road if you'd like. If you weld mounts for the YFZ arms, in their location, so they bolt up unmodified, you will only be able to run YFZ arms. Also, if the front j-arm mount is in the same place as an a-arm bike, you would still need to modify the YFZ a-arm where it mounts to the frame for the front mount, otherwise it would shift the arm back further and your caster would be basically zero.

so scratch the plus two idea from yfz found a nice kit that only 745.00 +2+1 made for the banshee pro elite and elka shock the whole setup with brake lines and you can replace the ball joints im just pissed cause know i have to grind my fresh powdercoat off
