peterlocal22
i would take a 700 raptor over the 660 personally
Motoman991
I had an 01 660 raptor some time ago. It would keep up with my stock 00 Banshee. The raptor and a slip on, filter and jetted. They have a lot of low end power but they handle like shit. The 700 is way better in everything than a 660 and I would say it is better than a stock banshee IMO. jbooker82
The 660's are great machines. The 01's did have transmission problems. 2nd gear would go out. Yea everybody is going to say "get the latest and greatest 700, it is king over the 660". It is fun mesing with guys on my 4mill 720cc raptor. Angel ripper
I had a 03 660, till I bought my 06 yfz. its a fun quad, a little on the tippy side, but it is a great trail machine, lots of low end grunt. Just don't get one and think it's a power house, cause it's not. but a fun quad it is. I had a 686 kit put in and raced gncc with it! Animalman294
Ya, thats what I dont like about the raptor is that its damn top heavy, or rather a high center of gravity which makes me feel like I'm going to tip over all the time. But leaning into it and putting your ass on your inside heal when cornering fast helps out considerably...........

FASTOYS
How well are the raptor 660's performance wise. i know they are no banshee  . I am trying to help out a friend. They respond very well to mods. In stock form they are kinda of turds but with the right mods they really wake up. The right pipe, jetting, and gearing can make a big difference. Lemme know if i can help.

GrMeyer
add a 11.1 piston, stage2 cam. good exhaust and K&N and you will be right around 50hp...I got P&P done with DMC aline exhaust and pulled 52HP to the wheels...Got an 07 700r that pulled 60hp to the wheels. dragbanshee
02 660 with 686 kit, cammed and lowered with reversed front wheels +4 axle. I loved to flat trak with it, till I went back to the banshee.
bennieben
ive had a few of those. put the reversed rims up front and the tippyness goes away. change the gearing to a twelve up front and a 42 in the rear. believe me, he will be one happy camper.
