I'm not happy with how she runs. So I've finally cracked the carbs open.

I'm thinking it's stock, because the main had a little 200 on it.

2 things.

1- what is the stock config? 200 main 40 pilot and clip on the 3rd position?

2- I'm thinking for me I'd go with 260 main 42 pilot and leave the needle.

What do you think?

I'm at 3500 to 5000 ft. FMF fattys and PC2's. 2 stage reeds. K&N filter with modified lid and no snorkle.

(don't mention to do a plug chop, I'm looking for a starting point)

woah, your stockkers are 25 pilot and 200 main. what's the temp there. what fuel and mix? you'll probably go with the stock 25 pilot, but possibly 27.5, and anywhere from 280-340 on the mains, depending on the above. the local fuel at higher altitudes will actually call for a few sizes larger than sea level gas at higher altitudes

with all those mods you were running 200 mains? and yeah stock pilots are 25

yup... that was my first time looking at them...

I'm hoping that will wake up the engine. I'm still thinking 270's anyone else's opinion for my set up?

At your elevation I would start at around a 300 main or higher, and a 27.5 pilot.

Not trying to turn your thread into a sales thread but if you have stock 26mm carbs I have a bunch of jets I do not need anymore from 280's up to 340's.

Dont have any needles but I do have 25, 27.5 and 30 pilots.

If either of you need any of these let me know via PM.

i'll let mofoka have first dibbs. i'm fine with 30's right now, but my 25's and 27.5's are messed up, and i'll need more mains by spring

Any one?? AK's recommending 280-340, any one else willing to supply some advice for me up at 4000+ riding?

my guess would be around 260, with stock pilots, with those mods and lid on, and 5000 feet up is pretty high, air gets thin

i run similar and run a 280s with a 8x3" hole cut in my lid, and im riding 500-1200 ft elevations

only you can ride the bike and see what works best though, with it goin into spring now, its gona warm up and that will richen your jetting up as well, remember that, need to lean out in summer

the main reason i suggest 310-320, is that everyone knows that you go down a size running the same fuel, but if you are buying local pump, it changes every 2000 ft. and makes you go up 2 sizes or more. so basically, if you ride sea level, but make a trip to the pass @ about 1750 and up, you will be fine by dropping a size. when you use up your fuel and need to buy more, the local station will have fuel that is formulated to atomize differently for higher elevations, which, in short, calls for 2 sizes larger mains than the sea level fuel. this is one reason why gas pumps have a disclaimer "not for use in aircraft engines"

not sure if i explained that right, but it comes out to about to +1 per 2000ft or so, on pump
