blowit
Bottom line guys, no one will stop the madness if we don't. The government has proven they will take all we will give them and more. Enough is enough. Obama - don't even get me started. All I will be able to say in 4 yrs is "I told you so but you were too fixed on his color to give a shit". I would take a purple president in a heart beat if they could do the job. Keyser Soze
We are already on the brink of losing A L L semi automatic weapons. Do you think the pigs are for that???? B Umm. Not true. Most of the police officers ive talked to HATE the new gun law proposals, including myself. I think the govenment should issue a M1 garand and a snub nose .38 to every tax payer. People would think twice about things if they new everyone had a heater. Edited March 19, 2009 by jugriggs
CallWhy816
But wasn't it the same, or worse, under the previous President? I think it is the system more than anything. All politicians built up our spending, it wasn't one party. I think the difference between the 2 is who they are taxing to get that money. Again, I think this is how the government is setup, and it doesn't matter what party is running it. The congress is going to spend no matter who is in office, or who is in congress for that matter. Fact of the matter is statistics should speak volumes here. I honestly cannot believe we got the concealed carry law adopted in Kansas after the governor straight booted that thing. Have not heard of one wrongful shooting either. Anyway, that seems a topic for another day. Thanks for your view on the subject. You should make your voice heard on that. Because if you don't, Obama's taxes are going to be less for you than Bush's. I want to add, I'm not an Obama supporter. He was just the lessor of 2 idiots. evro
Man, I hear what you guys are saying about the seat belt laws and I agree it's bullshit. But what does that have to do with Obama? That's your local and state govt decisions. I'll be the first one to agree that our govt is fucked, but this dude's been in office for 3 months. We we're fucked well before he got there. I know it's a touchy subject, and I'm not trying to offend anyone. But what other option was there? I think the system is the problem more than anything. Just my $.02. Our rights were being infringed upon well before Obama stepped into office. being on the outside of this looking in, with good access to a wide range of media, i'd have to agree with you totally. the banking industry, wall street, auto industry etc were all fucked long before obama ever took office. these problems were many, many years in the making. my province has had seat belt laws for over 25 years, a seat belt ticket runs almost 300 beans and also 2 demerit points against your license up here. but with our health care system (gov funded) they argue that if you injure your ass cause you weren't buckled up, it costs them money. and the're right. no responsible businessman would leave himself exposed like that, so why should they? and they're also right about them saving lives...generally. been in a handful of rollovers in my time and walked (or limped) away from all of them. some of the time i was wearin a belt, some of the time i wasn't. but i've also flown over the handle bars of quads, sleds, and motorcycles (always wearing a lid), and survived. but now, i just buckle up cause i'd rather have the $$$ in my coffers than theirs. how does it work down there for those of you who carry insurance? does your insurance provider require you to be wearing your seat belt in order to be covered for injuries sustained in an auto accident? also a guy mentioned about fines for smoking in a vehicle occupied by minor(s)...i think about 3 or 4 of our provinces have that law as well, and the rest of them will soon follow. about 5 years ago they started to ban smoking in public places up here. now about the only way you can smoke inside is if you own the property. even at a bar, you have to go outside to smoke. dajogejr
In MI...it started years ago as they could only pull you over for something else, and ticket you for seat belt as an add on. Then it moved to they could pull you over for a seat belt violation only. It does open the door for a lot of other stuff, but bottom line is...if you got something illegal in your car, if you're under the influence, etc...does it matter if they pull you over for a stupid seat belt? If you have something to hide, it shouldn't matter how you got caught. I'm not an Obama supporter, but how does he fit into a state regulated law again? I just had to pay my mortgage and car insurance, does that mean it's his fault too? C'mon.... I'm a smoker, you should be able to smoke in your own car. You should not be able to smoke with underage children in the car. Why should they breathe the shit we smoke? Let's talk about something that is really hurting society... Fucking idiots that feel they can talk on the phone and text someone and actually drive. If it were my choice, you get a healthy ticket for texting. You'd get a ticket for talking on your phone in the car if it wasn't a hands free device.... I'm more worried about these fucking idiots doing that...and bitches putting on their makeup in the mirror than I am some guy not wearing his seatbelt.... I was all over my sister just yesterday for that texting and driving thing. Talk about a distraction. I think the only reason I brought up Obama is because the moneys that our wonderful state will get, will come from our wonderful fed gov't that is undoubtedly trickling this money out as part of the bail out campaign. I would have to agree, things were screwed up before he got here. I take a strong dislike to him for many reasons but mostly because he does not respect american values (the flag) and principles, and is not even a true american by law, yet, somehow, became president. wesw
could care less about the seat belt law i wear mine some times and some times i dont if i get pulled over i put it on real fast. and tell them they must have not seen it very well. will say the best thing ks has started is giving ticket to fucks that stay in left lane, and slow traffic down. i say fine the piss out of them. wesw
The reason I posted here guys is that this can affect people rolling through our state going to riding areas as well as Kansans. I have fallen victim to a sting in OK where they wanted everyone out of my truck, wanted the dogs to sniff all our bags, etc. All because I had a flickering tail light. RU kidding??? one more thing just be proud your in a car or truck if your a truck driver like me and others they can pull you over and go thru more shit than i could list. and its been that way for years. so just something you will have to get used to like the rest of us. there is nothing you can do. do you know there is a guy in the senate or house in ks trying to make ks have 13 counties. instead of the 105 to help with cost and shit. can you imagine having your fire dept hq being 100miles away and let them try to get to your house.
