It rattles like crazy ALL the time. It also swings out the whole time Im riding and just about goes through my leg. It has ripped my pants many times. LOL What do you guys do to keep it in against the bike? I can deal with the rattling, but not it coming out into my leg..... Thanks.

Just rebuild it. There is a ball, a spring, and a detent in there. You can buy the parts through Yamaha.

Fuck going to yamaha and FUCK duct tape!

Go to Ace or some hardware store, get the small oring one size larger and if need be get a new sring. I rebuilt my kick starter for i think 75 cents instead of buying a $10 kit.

got a complete parts list???

thats cheap!!

good one.

Take it apart, bring the spring and orings to the store. The ball bearing won't wear out, and they're not going to have the hold down bolt at the store.

Buy two orings and a long enough spring to where you can cut it.

Cut the new spring a hair longer than the old, stack two orings, smash it down in a vice. It'll last a LONG time.
