Snopczynski
Im putting a bike together with the following. Stock carbs with pod filters cpi inframe small bores. PD coolhead with 20cc domes advance timing +4 degrees Lightened flywheel Boyesen pro series reeds on stock cages Elevation 0-700 feet riding, sand dunes, and pavement. I was thinking of starting at about 310 mains. Anyone have a better suggestion for where to start, what needle clip position to use, and pilot jet/ air screw settings? I usually mess with TM's and pwk's, so I am sure there are a few on here that will have a better idea of where this thing needs to be. wacko2000
I ran that setup with T5's and a airbox. I was perfect at 310, I think you will need to be richer. Im no jetting expert but i would say 330 27.5 pilot I have cpi's now and they seem to like a bigger pilot than the T5's good luck
shee4speed
I was running stock carbs, pods, with Shearers.Dune port though. I had 360 mains in them.I prob.could have ran 340's.It was pretty rich.
Titan up
I think 310 mains is a little small. My old set up with unported stock cylinders with ALL the bolt on's, pods and t-6's, I was at 340 mains and 4th clip down from top. 300-1200 elev. ToomeySheeLE
I think you'll end up at 310's with the pods.. I was running an airbox with the exact setup and was in the 290 range.. still plenty safe... I was running the longer toomey needles, middle clip, and 27.5 pilot. firebanshee
I would start at 340s but i think you will end up at 330s, needle in the middle and 27.5 pilot.
Frogger
I'd go would go with what firebanshee said. I ran mine at 300 with the same bolt on's at 5000ft.
Wildcardracing
330-340 mains, 27.5 pilot , needle on middle clip would be a good place to start. 310's will be way lean, you may end up as low as 320's depending on temp and humidity.
