lokisbuddy
Ok now that I have my rims off to polish them I was thinking of putting the valvestem in upside down and then drilling a new one on the other side, can anyone tell me what the downside to doing this is? I mean are my tie rods/ends gonna suffer? I want to widen my front end a little because I plan on widening the rear via a G-force axle (within 3 months) Also other than a meaner stance what benefits will this give me? I have done a search on flipped rims but found shit for advice.
twizted269
if anything i would weld the hole shut rather than flipping the stem. just one more spot for trouble.
lokisbuddy
I was thinking about that but what if for some reason I want to go back to narrow front?
mark101180
just get wheel spacers or a arms. no need to fuck with a perfectlty functional rim. plus that will probably put the wheel out of balance and possibly cause a shake
shee4speed
1 more benefit will be a liitle wider spread for your girls legs. When your pounding her on the shee.
T_Shee
just did it to mine. only rode it once but i noticed a hell of a difference. i just cut the old valvestem where it goes from fat to narrow, used a 6mm bolt, nut and washer, put a little silicone on the outside and when tightening down the bolt and nut it will squish the piece of stem thats still in the wheel and seal up perfect. my fronts used to leak down over time and now its been about a week since i did it and they are still full of air. others might say it will affect your handling or put more stress on your lug studs but idk. im happy with the added width. i also have a g force rear and they are almost the same width now. 6 bucks for new valvestems, better than hundreds for new a arms
Michael Jackson
more stress on balljoints/tire rod ends, spindles, ect , basically everything..more bump steer, more force on stock shocks = even worse than stock if thats possible.... i wouldnt do it, but to each his own and id never run wheel spacers for the obvious reasons too, but thats just me
NickisGod
i did it..... and love it. i had to use front wheel spacers because my valve stem is metal and would hit the calipers and such.
lokisbuddy
1 more benefit will be a liitle wider spread for your girls legs. When your pounding her on the shee. Haha nah I got a method for that, get her to stand on the nerfs and grab the handlebars and nail her from behind for maximum penetration. As for running spacers if I wanted to spend money I would just buy some used a arms. I think if what mj said is true I will stick to stock. Can someone else confirm his post?
rambo
I did it on my 440ex.. came down off a 5th gear wheelie n snapped top ball joint was like eehh had to happen 4 yrs old normal wear n tear replaced all 4 joints... was about 3 months lata jumped a jump bout 3 ft of air snapped the uppers both at once... so i flipped my rims back bought after market arms an same ball joints... jumped the thing non stop for like 3 weeks not a issue.. so b prepare for the worst if you do do it.. its a cheap mod by all means trying to make bang for the buck id do it in a heart beat if i needed the extra width an not jumping or only a few here an ther..jus hold on for a ride at one point or another lol
2001Stroker
Mine have been flipped for the last season. The wheel bearings are shit now. My advice, keep the center of the wheels as close to the center of the spindle as possible. Alot less stress on everything. Luckily, I haven't had anything major happen from it. Now that I got extended a-arms, they're going back to normal.
