why did my pistons do this?

went riding today was runing fine. and then i noticed a loss of power took it back to truck and didn't have shit for compression on right side. so pulled head and juggs and this is what we found

4 mil, trail port, pro circuit pipes, 2 into 1 35 carb, +4 timing, chariot head with 22cc domes, 94 octane at 36:1, elevation 830 feet above

Damn! that looks like a lottal heat going on there, what do the tops of the rods look like?

 

dunno the bike is over at my buddies house where we work on them at. but ya we were sure it is heat related. just didn't know what it was that made them do it. Hoping someone could enlighten us.

I am by no means a jetting expert but I have done it alot. 205 sounds WAY big to me given your mods and elevation. How did it run up top? Boggy? Also needle clip position is very important. I am sure someone with more experience than me will chime in and give you some insight. I really hope you didn't fry the tops of the rods!

205 to big for 1 carb? when i bought it from trinity it came with a 195 in it and a 198 and i think a 192.

 

 

OOPS! I didn't realize that you were a one lunger! My bad, but anyway, it looks like a jetting issue or improper break-in to me just my .02 Check out the jetting/exhaust forum, I think someone posted about what jets everyone is using on single carb set-ups.

nah i broke her in good. you guys think running 94 instead of 100 or better octane helped fuck this shit up? my buddy thinks its the timing but a shit ton of people run +4 timing so i don't think it was timing.
