Haspin Conditions Report

Recommended Posts

Went there today and scouted it out.

Orange trail: Apparently some trucks or jeeps or something had a little fun on the orange trail so it is kind of rough. Trees down in the forward areas but they told me they are going to clear it since it has to be for the hare scrambles they run in the summer and one coming up sometime soon.

Blue trail: Much better and hardly ridden on. Not a lot of mud or trees down, but winter crap left some areas washed out but not too bad that it can't be ridden on. (at least if you are brave enough)

Drag Strip: In good condition. People were racing on it today and it appears to be fast and loose. Should be good.

MX track: Getting a total face lift and becoming a lot better now. They are planning to disc it more often and water it more since when they did it last summer more people showed up to ride on it. However it was last year, it will be a lot better. They are planning on doing another triple crown series again, so the district put pressure on them to clean it up.

OVerall, it will be better than last year, but lets hope the trails will be in better shape by the time we hit it as a group.

dam guys, give me a break.. its tax time for god sakes!!! lol.. i found them for about 120 shipped.. anybody know where else to get them cheaper? and are they a better tire than the zippers?? i hear they are better than the zips

I've only ran the 4 snows. Don't know about the zippers. I got mine from a place called Mudthrowers.com . Should be able to google mudthrowers I think. 120 sounds like a good price shipped though. I think I payed like 38 apiece or something with free shipping. Been a while though.

how well do they hook dave??

Don't know what exactly what to compare them too. They aren't as good as a real paddle in the sand. You're gonna give up a little for the ability to ride them in the snow and not have to worry about them on the hardpack. I can still dump it in second and pull the wheels through 3rd on a good day. Have to be smooth on the shifting and do it with the wheels in the air. I think you would be better off with them for the kind of riding you do or places you go. Badlands will eat up paddles. I was pulling wheelies in the round river rock there with the 4snows. You can still trail ride them a little too if you aren't to crazy. Lot more forgiving. The traction in the snow it alot better. My bike used to dig in and bottom out in the snow. I can pull my kid on a sled with these things.

kool.. i am more aimed toward using them for dirt drags, and playing around in the sand.. i really need a good tire for dirt drags really..

These should work for that. I'm not a dirt dragger but I thought alot of those guys ran Ohtsu Pro Wedges. 4snows are cheap copies of those I think.
