Bad ass. Sounds good. I see your proud!!! I know I was looking just like that after my rebuild start up. I will be doing my break-in this week. I can not wait. After that it all get put back together and I am ready.

Pretty much like Loco said is how I am doing mine just to be on the safe side.

basically just really taking advantage of heat cycles.

how so?

im not saying they are wrong..im just saying that it is not necessary and its not going to increase or decrease the life of your motor.

break in should be a simple process, not something that takes hours upon hours. a couple heat cycles followed with an easy ride is sufficient for any type of atv motor.

1. 5 mins of idling.

2. 10 mins of cooling.

3. 5 mins of idling.

4. 10 mins of cooling.

5. 10 minute ride varying the throttle a little.

6. cool.

7. run the piss out of it. (provided jetting is good)

i read somewhere, can't remember, but it was basically the samething you post. the only difference was to retorque the heads after every cool down.

what do you think about that idea?

I am sure Duncan goes overboard so they can cover their ass'. Hell some don't even break in, they just rebuild and run. Never heard of it being a issue.

I know I should, but I do not torque the head bolts. I just tighten to feel. Is that bad, its a Noss head, what can I fuck up?

well if you dont get them all the same, your head can slowly warp, you run the risk of under or overtightening them therefore stripping them out, ect. its just good to follow torque specs.

especially on your clutch.

i dont torque mine either. the one time i did, the fuckin thing leaked. i havent torqued a head since 2001.

i must have an amazing internal torquer then, because ive NEVER torqued anything on the clutch and havent on the head for many years. ive never had an issue.
