TJScott
So first time filing up the banshee with tranny fluid since im just now getting that far in the build, i saw 1500cm3, and mistaked it for 1500cc's. i poured in a little over 1200cc's of oil since thats all i had. i turned around and there was fluid everywhere, it was coming out of the hose that is supposed to route above the access panel by the water pump, i dont have an access panel btw. so i saw it was overfull and let it run out. i come back 20 minutes later, and its still dripping out. i check the dipstick and its a little under half. so why did it continue to drain? is it even supposed to be leaking? sleeper06
Drain it again into an aluminum pan and you can reuse it. It takes 1 full quart and 1/2quart
skinindustries
you put a quart and a half in there??? damn that seams like ALOT of oil.. my dirtbike only takes 800cc.
AKheathen
did you have the hose just hanging?
Michael Jackson
isnt it 1.7 total if its totally empty? and then 1.5 for periodic oil chnages. then alot of people say they put in closer to 2 quarts to prevent something from welding itself to something else.. i dont know, but im pretty sure ive read that before

You were 300 cc or cm3 short. Thus the draining through your hanging hose. Got the equation now? Should take 1.5 liters which is equal to almost 1.6 quarts. Rodneya
1 cc is the same as 1 ml is the same as 1cm3. Your banshee takes 1.5litre (1500ml) when you change the oil and 1.7litre (1700ml) if you have had the clutch cover off. If you only put in 1200cc or 3/4 of the oil required it should not be leaking. Overfilling slightly wont do anything to your motor
TJScott
yes, i was mistaken. i was overcomplicating things as usual and got an incorrect measurement. hopefully routing that hose correctly will stop the leakage. btw, does anybody know if i NEED to to have an access panel? its already saved me once not having one. TJScott
it goes over the water pump cover. i see no need for it, except maybe for assurance that you dont break the water pump cover, idk.
