Go ahead, Call me out all you want.... I got my opinion and no one will change it. I STILL think builders put more effort/time into their personal/shop bikes and their sponsored riders/friends builds then the average joe blow build... I can give lots of examples.. but the open forum isn't the place for that. If anyone happens to catch me in chat I'd be more then happy to explain myself. But its not needed for me to write a novel here about this subject.

i agree with your saying in away, but i look at it this way.if the guy that does my motors isn't going to do the same work to mine as he is going to do to his own motor then i'll go to somebody else.i know everybody has a opinion

Im receiving some parts back from him tomorrow and he only had mine for 3 weeks. Just got the call today from ups saying that i will be receiving a COD package from A @ S racing. I guess it just depends on what all he has going on. Im pretty sure its a madhouse right about now when planet sand event in Louisiana is about to take place.

All I can say about this top is WOW. If you guys really want a motor done Send it to him when riding seasons done not a month from the start of the season. My brothers currently a sponsored rider for dan so I can vouch for his work as well. If you havent called lately you should try and call. Hes gotten so many calls that the mailbox is full and I just talked to him last week. Also now would not be a good time because of the planetsand race starting in few weeks which he has to prepare for and it takes a while to get there with a trailer.

If you guys cant get ahold of dan call up rdz or tyson which are all good builders as well and all talk to dan weekly. Theres also a new builder around grand haven, MI that does good work as well which is PROformance Prototypes and there numbers 616-318-3353 they sponsor on atvdragracers.com and do good work and always puts his customers before his own bike. Hes building a 18mm dm and a 22mm cougar right now for the planetsand race.

Yeah so you can listen to a busy persons phone ring.

Teddy...

There is nothing wrong with his motors or his accomplishments, no one is denying that.

Nothing wrong with him being busy...it's understandable.

But there is a difference in a reasonable wait...and too long of a wait... Top that with sometimes answering the phone, sometimes not...if you were in the "not answered" group, you'd get aggravated as well.

There are plenty of people out there, including MI people who see Dan at the track or live/visit his shop that say the same thing.

He's a great guy, innovator in our sport...but his response time is lacking...that's all.

I know dave it just irritates me to get on here and see this. People talking down a great man. If they know it takes time for him to do stuff cause hes so busy then why not plan for it thats all you have to do. Its just plain and simple. To get GREAT work you have to pay the price and wait thats it.

I got GREAT work.. and waited 2 weeks from the day it left my door..(including shipping to/from Cali) Lots of capable builders out there that have fast turnaround. You keep making people wait months and months for motors... they will find another builder. People spend 4-5k on a motor.. they expect to be treated the way they want to be treated. If they dont.. then they'll take their business somwhere else.

Let me take that ideal one step further.

The first time I talked to Jeff at fast (group nut hug) 4 or 5 years ago...I spend 90 bucks or so on a clutch.

You'd have thought I spent 5 K on a motor....

Teddy...no one is doubting he's busy. NO ONE is doubting he builds some of, if not the fastest in the country.

What they're upset about is getting told a month and waiting 3...or vice versa.

Dan builds a great motor. He's not the only one, however...that's all.

I can certainly appreciate your loyalty to him...but it's not like someone on here is calling him a low down, no good piece of shit crook...they're just saying his wait times are at times long....and he's not real quick on the phone to answer or sometimes call back....

Im sorry if you take my comments as demeaning twards Dan.

But if you knew the hell i have been through with him you would understand my frustration.

Its like Dave said there is no doubt that he is top notch at what he does.

But when you drop something off and you are told 2 weeks, you expect 2 weeks not 6.

Its like i said before i had to ship a motor to California...and still got it back 3 months earlier then i would have if Dan did it for me locally.
