The material and heat treatment of the material probably differs between the two, but the greater difference in my mind is the blanchard grinding of the Galfer rotors after they have been cut and milled. :geek:

Blanchard ground, nice. Cut and milled? I doubt it.. I honestly dont know how others are made. I make mine with 10ga (.135" thick) 403 grade stainless steel. I beat the hell out of mine all weekend without issues, so I dont see warpage coming into play. Others might be "nicer" but your going to pay for it. I think $75 shipped for mine is a fine deal..

Again, these are sold as a "show only" item for liability reasons, but I have no worries taking this on the trail for many months to come.

im not worried about the quality of Jd's product, wen it comes time for me to buy rotors. i will be contacting JD. i would much rather put my money into his pockets rather than someone i dont know. also its good to help out fellow hq'ers. i dont think im ever on the brakes long enough to get them hot enought to warp neway.

The Galfer units are Blanchard ground at have the mounting bolt pads milled below the braking surface.

$75 is a good deal. Like I said, if you want the couple extra features Galfer's rotors offer, you have to pay another $40.........
