Ok guys just got the shee back together... well atleast mocked up, and I was going to break in the motor before I take it apart again to finish the chassis mods (I'll post pics in the next couple days), but the problem is when I went to start it it keeps trying to idle up with out me touching anything... Here's my thoughts- the compression is really high, the pilot jets are wrong because its like 12 degrees outside and I have the stock pilot jets in, I got rid of the TORS system so something is wrong, something in the carb. is sticking... can you guys help me out? Here's my mods if that helps True/welded crank, Wiseco Pro-lite pistons, Agressive trail ported cylinders, Pro-Design cool head w/ 20cc domes, Ported/polished reed cages (by me), Boyesen Dual stage carbon fiber reeds, +4 Timing, Tusk clutch kit w/ 3 HD springs 3 stock springs, Toomey T-5's, 330 main jets, stock carb.

I kick it over, it starts first kick, then I just let it sit and it slowly starts idling higher... I amy just have to let it idle for a minute or tap the throttle

Sounds like an air leak. Like Sleeper asked, "did you pressure test the motor?".

How does it react when you give it throttle? If it boggs down you could have a fuel flow problem. normally when it gains idle it means it is running leaner. It could be an air leak or running out of fuel in the carb(s)...

If it revs right up it could just be that it is warming up and using the fuel better.

dont forget to check your plugs.

How about the exhaust??? Normal, more or less smoke???

That makes ALOT more sense than your original post. Because the quad is supposed to idle when you arnt touching it.

Anyways... Prolly an air leak or your idle RPM is set just a hair too high. When you open it WOT and let the throttle go does it hang at a higher rpm for a sec then go back to normal? If so its prolly that the RPMS are set too high.

If the fuel is cold, it will not atomize nearly as good untill it heats, like in the case as the engine is starting to warm up. hence, the need for a choke. start it up and turn the idle down as it rises, and you'll probably have to drop the needle a bit. i just got some new ones that fit the larger jet sizes (thicker and longer) did you try out that torco?
