kirk3000 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 im thinking of getting some with outerwears and im wondering if that'd be okay even if its raining of if theres alot off puddles, waht size ones would you fellas recommend? and when you add pipes do you make the jets bigger or smaller? Quote
tidos76 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Dont run pods if you playiong in water IMO. one good splase and you have water in your cyllinders. If its just a lil light rain or small puddles you'll be ok. I have a set of K&n's that will fit from stock to 30mm carbs. Most often you'll have to jet up. you'll be flowing more air. The more air you flow the more gas you have to flow with it. Quote
donkeypuncher Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 most people that run pods only or atleast mostly ride in the sand. if you plan on gettin muddy or goin thru puddles i wouldnt suggest getting pod filters. Quote
kirk3000 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 thanks for the imput, it rain pretty much everyday for ten months here lol, thats alot of water Quote
skinindustries Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 While we are on the subject i am goin to get pods, but i also ride in the mud and dirt alot. I dont have the stock air box. So would it still be a good idea to get pods?? or buy a air box off ebay? Quote
tidos76 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 dirt would be ok. THICK mud maybe, if you get into stiff to were you may get water on you filter i would go with an air box. but if y want some pots lemme know Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 i have pods and ride in rain and through small water puddles (about 6in deep or less). just be careful. Quote
R. Rollins Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 The neighbor kid down the street has pods on his and rides in all weather, He brought his Banshee down to my house to fix a few days ago and both carbs were filled with muddy crud. The pods were rubbing onto the frame and had rubbed holes in them. This kid doesnt have a clue, nice kid but he neglects this small stuff. He figures as long as it runs he doesnt care. WOW. ITS A 2005 BIKE AND LOOKS LIKE DEATH.(no fenders, bald rear tires), bent handlebars NOW HE JUST NOW OFFERED TO SELL IT TO ME FOR $2,000.00 After seeing the carbs like that , I know to always run an airbox of some type.
