R. Rollins
My whole family has the $30.00 firesticks on all our quads (5 of them). We have had them rolled over, beaten in the branches of the woods, and slammed into low branches at full throttle. 3 years on some and one year on the others. They are not the required 10 feet flags as I hear that are required in the California Dessert, they are the 8 footers, but They are thicker, and hold up nicely. Those thin assed fishing rod looking flags are crap. I havent tried the billet holders, just the heavy springs that came with the firesticks. FireHead
Yeah, eventually the bases get loose too, then the flag just pops out even if your going fast. The big fads on the Oregon coast where billet flag holders, then the air fitting type, then the pop its, and now the firestiks. I have a Firestick for my truck and it is pretty nice. The Stiffy products tend to be more popular with the SoCal crowd. :geek:
shee4speed
If you ride around trees or do any jumping, those things are worthless. You would be better off just breaking you flag stick in half before you leave the trailer. I dont know of any trees in the dunes. As far as jumping,Never had one come off yet and do plenty of air.Hauling ass through the dunes and my popit is 3years old.The only thing I put was a new flag on it. My kids fly through the dunes and jump plent also.Never ever had a problem. I still like them. The stiffys are popular though.

FireHead
true,no trees in glamis. Glamis, Dumont, Pismo, etc. ar pretty easy on flags. I only broke a couple down there after not landing a couple big jump very cleanly........... and those were the crappy fishing pole poles with the el cheapo collet nut holder things. :geek:
dajogejr
Guys...unless he's going somewhere else to ride...he needs the flag for Silver Lake. And there's hardly a tree in sight at the dunes, and this is going on a drag bike if I'm not mistaken. If so...a regular old mount works fine. Your bike goes over that far...you got bigger issues than breaking a flag off....
