dajogejr
Firefox can not go "down". The install could get corrupt. It only relies on your Internet Connection. That would be like saying the freeway is shut down because my car won't start. Literally... I can tell you if you leave firefox running for a long time, it will start to bleed memory. Especially with quite a few tabs open. I Normally close and restart firefox once or twice a day to clear up the RAM.

In My opinion it is the worst POS browser out there. installed it a few times on my PC....usually rip it out by the next day....lol Just trrying to figure out what all the hype is. dajogejr
I've used Firefox for about 4-5 years now. It is less inherent to pickup adware/spyware than IE due to it not using Active X. They originated Tabbed Browsing, and you have a WHOLE SLEW of custom apps you can install to customize your browser. From a Gmail app, to an FTP app...weather apps, just about everything in between. From better security to more customizable apps....it is hands down a better browser than IE. The only thing I use IE for is GUI Programming on Cisco hardware. Firefox will not do that...otherwise, it does everything it needs to. And I've been doing computers a long time Dan, you know that. Never had a problem with Fox...and I used it back when the versions were .0.9.0 etc. Now it's at V. 3.0.7 I've used Opera, MyIE2 (now Maxthon), netscape, Mozilla, Safari.... hands down Fox is better. You can even get a mobile version that runs off a flash drive, something you should look into. When troubleshooting, you can launch a browser that completely runs off a flash drive, so if your customer has hosed IE so bad, you can download a fix. I will look in to that Dave. Especially since im going to be opening my own pc repair/electronics sales store in about 2 weeks. Have you tried Google Chrome yet?? Thanks for the info. dajogejr
Yep...I have. thought it was WAY too cartoony like Apple or Vista. Nothing special. If you're opening up your own shop, look into BartPE as well, and/or a bootable version of Linux, Knoppix is pretty good. Both lifesavers. Bansh-eman
Mozilla bulit FireFox on the same open-source platform as Netscape. It is pretty much a beefed up version of NS. All of it is built ontop of Apache open-source. There was actually alot more to Netscape going out of business then Microsoft, however they were a critical part of the situation. I am reading a book called The World is Flat, and this is one of the topics it covered.
