Ieat4strokes
whats the easiest way to seperate the upper and lower a-arms from the spindle? I had to replace one of the upper a-arms a while back and basicaly used a punch and a hammer to get it out. tried prying it out with a prybar and fucced up the rubber boot to the ball joint. luckily i replaced it so it didnt matter. so is there a way to make a tool like they have in the manual? or what are the methods you have used? thanks...... Hold the a-arm in your hand. Then smack the side of the spindle with a hammer. Should pop right out.
ban99
two ball pein hammers, hit the side of the spindal from oposite directions at the same time. This should cause it to drop right out.

Thanks Brad
swrbansheeboy
smack it on the spindle where the ball joint mounts... like 2001 said, just pull up on the upper or push down on the lower and smack it with a hammer a couple times. dont wail on it so your denting it up realy bad, just a couple good whacks while holding pressure against it and it should pop right out. just dont whack the threads, i let a buddie of mine take my chrome front end apart once... lets just say that to keep from buying a new upper and lower for one side and paying to have it all chromed again i ended up welding the castle nuts on...
