brugal
HONESTLY!! Who the hell wants and all chrome or polished bike anyway? That would be me.
J-Madd
If a KX500 motor was good for drag racing, more people would build them. The guys that build a big single start with a CR or TRX 250 engine, not a 500 cc of any type. Would it be fast? Probably. Should it beat your average (any size) Cub? no. It definitely looks like a death trap though!!
jayzx10r
I'm gonna go with the "it'll beat a crapload of Banshees" group. Shoot...I beat a crapload of Banshees with my Banshee!! Maybe some of the guys that have thousand $$ cylinders and $$$$ porting wouldn't consider the Kwaker to be serious competition, but for us non-alky guys...this 550 would be a real challenge...or maybe we'd be no challenge!! Maybe it's just me, but part of the Banshee pride of ownership thing is in that I own something not so mainstream. Anyone can go out and buy a 4fiddy, but hand them a quad that requires finesse and they're out. We build ours from parts bought, traded, and modified with an end result of a 20 year old design that embarrasses their 2008 technology in the dunes. As much as I like the idea of a 500 2-stroke...no counterbalancer would be kinda rough...but I seriously doubt you'd be embarrassed by it's performance. Imagine a Quadzilla that weighed 175lbs less... I have to admit, I've been a fan of Kawasaki for "long time." Maybe for the same reason I like Mopar over Chevy/Ford. Anyone could buy a Camaro or Mustang, but a Road Runner or Charger kicks ass!! Back to my coffee...

Dick Wheels
A quadzilla that weighs 175lbs less is a hybrid! Sticking a LT500 engine in a LT250 frame. That's why my green LT in my sig is apart for!

BY BY!! Lighter than a banshee by far and around 90HP but about 90lbs of torque too. B
lokisbuddy
I think we have lost sight of the topic here, this guy claims his tecate to be a shee killer, well I had a worked over tri-z that would eat alot of piped shees so I think this guys tecate would kill a shee. Granted it may not kill a full blown race shee but I bet it would stomp mine into the mud and last time I checked mine was a shee.
BellicoseBanshee
It definitely looks like a death trap though!! Nah, just a little ATV population control, that is all. Mine was a TRX with an LT500. BY BY!! Lighter than a banshee by far and around 90HP but about 90lbs of torque too. That is a nice looking bike.
rubberneck
Nah, just a little ATV population control, that is all. LOL, that is a great idea. We should make every asshole at the dunes ride a trike for the first day they are there. The survivors earn the right to stay all the other ass clowns go home or to the hospital. Either way they are not there being dicks and screwing up my vacation.

It definitely looks like a death trap though!! Fair enough. My earlier comments were based on my experience with modded Honda motors. I have a couple of buddies with some serious 250 BASED motors and a trike with a cr500 in it. Honestly if it wasn't for banshees, i wouldn't ride anything but RED. nuff said. They are fast. I know nothing about the kx motors.

Most wouldn't step up unless they had nerfs, heel guards, seat belts, roll cages, matress behind it, etc....
