broke
I say port it. Porting is one of the single biggest performance mods you will ever do. Patriot racing ported mine. I have not seen nicer porting, check this thread out. http://forums.bansheehq.com/viewtopic.php?t=6703 Dan at Patriot is a great guy to deal with. Everyone on here seems to have the same opinion of him and his work (even Quick/Jer/Stroked and he doesn't like anyone). Good Luck broke
ledofthezep
Porting is one of the single biggest performance mods you will ever do. I agree, just port it,...you'll love it.
bansheeboy757
Port it. Take your time finding a shop that will port to your specs. Dont rush into it or you will find you may not like the porting for your set-up and riding.

fixitrod
From what I've heard, patriot is one of the best. If I get another set of cylinders ported, there going to patriot.
DUNE-A-TIC
No matter what type ridding you do,there is a port design that will work for you.Patriot is,of course, well known for his quaility and performance. You may even check with CP5899 on here, his porting works great.I've got work done by Charlie Ohton,he is super cool.Do some research, talk with the person(s),and make a descision.. FadedDreams
Its like everyone says ,just research who you want to do it and what you want to have done.Just ask alot of questions,I know when I was wanting to learn from Dan at Patriot Racing ,If I wasn't so far away he would have come to my house and choked me.But he took the time to answer every question I had,no matter matter how dumb they were to him. But if you want a quick answer,Yes get it ported. You will love it.

CP5899
Yes, porting the bike will make the biggest difference in the world. There is no comparing a stock cylindered bike to a ported cylinder bike. You will be amazed at the difference in the two. Good Luck with either way you go. If we (CPC) can help you out in anyway just let me know. Thanks for the good comments guys! Thanks Craig CPCustoms
Backcountry
Thank you for the good words everyone!!! Cylinder porting will not effect reliability to most extents. Cylinder porting isnt just about making big holes in the cylinders. All but the most extreme engines run very hard with only modest changes. Bigger most often is NOT better!!! Not only is selecting the right port size important, but also of importance is the port shape. The correct radii given to the port corners and the port chamfering all effect how long a top end will last. Proper tuning, good fuel, clean air filters are all very important to ANY engine lasting. I would say that those holy trinity right there will have absolutely more to do with your engine lasting than any port job. That as a rider/owner will have the most direct influence in keeping up on those than what your port grinder did inside. Crank true and weld is also an important consideration. Cant build a house without a good foundation...same goes for engines, cant build a engine without a good foundation. Next to a good set of pipes, cylinder porting is the next best money spent for performance gain returned!
