jamebo
I use a Craftsman, works pretty good. I've also heard the Matco's and Snap-on's are really good.
trex banshee
ive had two from o'reillys...both quit reading accurate and began to bleed off. I then got a Snap-on from my dad for a present, very nice and comes with nice case as well. Better design, even though you have to take the tank off i like it alot better. Not cheap though, my o'riellys ones where 25 a piece i think and this one was 225ish, somewhere around there i believe.

Mjv420
I use a lisle compression tester. Bought it for 25-30$, a friend whom is a mechanic recommended it to me, it was dead on when I used it after a fresh rebuild.
R. Rollins
God help my wallet please. Man these things are high dollar. Thanks guys for the response. Ill have to nab the snap-on guy when he visits the mechanic down the street from me. I bought several torque wrenches a few years ago from craftsmen and they all got 5 uses maybe out of them. I will use this tool and I know that snap-on would support any needed repairs. Plus they come pre-calibrated I will assume. Until then Ill have to find someone here in the Denver area that has one that they could test it for me. Ill wait on that $250.00 dollar purchase for a few months until my DMC 916 pipe purchase soaks into the account real goos and the smoke from the wifes ass clears out a bit.
jbooker82
I bought a nice used snap on one off of ebay for 100 bucks shipped. Came with 3 hoses. Most common automotive spark plug threads. M14 long M14 short M18 short You use the M14 Long for the banshee. I did buy the 10 or 12mm long so I could use the compression gauge on my raptor as well. It was 50 from the snap on man. josh
jbooker82
There is a bunch of them on ebay right now. The ones with the black case and the orange protector around the gauge are the newer ones. josh http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksi...-All-Categories

R. Rollins
Damn: I forgot about considering E-bay. Thanks again guys. Ill be looking for the newer ones.
Snopczynski
On the matco ones, I have had two that I know were of by 25-35 psi. I ended up getting my money back because every tester he gave me was reading too low.
R. Rollins
No matco for me thanks.
desertdeweller
if you don`t want to spend a whole lot look at getting one that is for testing small engines like lawn mowers and weedeaters. echo makes a pretty decent one for testing small engines it has a dual thread fitting on it and it works on banshees. nice thing about it, it has shorter and smaller diameter hose requiring less volume to get the gauge to read.
