Mjv420
They just put the 916's back into production (temporary?) you will pay retail price for them though. T5's are pretty cheap and easy to find and get replacement parts for (if you ever need them) I was in your same position, I was wanting the 916's but didn't want to pay damn near 600$ for them so I bought a set of T5's. As far as performance and how well each pipe responds to porting you will have to wait for some guys to reply that have had experience with one or both of them. Wildcardracing
I haven't had any experience with the DMC's, but the toomey's offer a very nice broad power band when matched to the right portwork.
speed-racer
I have a similar setup......4 mil long rod with 34mm pjs, a dune port and T5 pipes. Works very well. I keep thinking about going to CPIs, but I love the broad torque curve.

Between here and ebay you can pick up a set for alot less than 539, you just have to keep your eyes open..
donkeypuncher
you can pick up a nice set of used t5's on ebay for around $350. most people say the 916's and t5's are very similar in the way they perform and usually make their choice based on sound. both are good pipes and i dont think you can go wrong either way you go.
swrbansheeboy
apparently powerbrokerz is now the main site for toomey so i dont know if they still offer the deal but... toomey used to have a deal on there site where you could send them a old set of any toomey headpipes (t-3's to t-6's)and for like $125 they would swap them out for a new set of t-5's in black. if you wanted them in chrome it was like $250 exchange. i dont know if powerbrokerz still does this deal but in the event they still do you might be able to score an old set of t-4's for realy cheep and swap the headpipes out for $125-$250 and basicly get a new set of pipes for pretty cheep depending on what you score the exchange set for. you'd have to call them and ask if they still do it though.... http://www.powerbrokerz.com/ Edited February 21, 2009 by swrbansheeboy

lowbuckracing
Those dmc pipes sound awesome...The t-5 is also a great pipe..Ive never seen what the dmc does on a dyno..But the t-5s have been proven many times to be an all around great pipe..
