This is for a 521 Cheetah

I am splitting the cases only to install override.

I was given this price by a guy at Trinity

I told him that I needed to split the cases and he told me I need the following..

Now I DID lose the bolts, nuts...but the rest...

72mm pistons............$129.99 apiece

Gaskets.....................$44.99

O-rings......................$20.99

Clutch cover gasket.....$17.99

Seals.........................$54.99

Head nuts..................$13.75

Base nuts...................$79.92 (He said they are "special" nuts for tight spaces.

That sounds kinda high...I know they have the rights to the pistons and are the sole carriers, but the rest of the crap????

IF it sounds kind of high, price it out elsewhere.

They have you by the nads on the pistons and possibly the Orings...the rest you can get ANYWHERE.

You can get nuts for the head and cylinder at a hardware store, you'll take a box end 13mm wrench and grind it down to fit...like the rest of us do.

Right on.

Thing is I don't even know if I need half that crap.

I should be able to get a standard base gasket and trim it to match the case porting, right?

And the only other gaskets I need are the clutch cover and stator cover, correct?

What about the seals...Could I save some cash there by just getting the seals that normally go bad? And if so, which ones are they?

I wasn't expecting the pistons to cost that much, so I'm gonna have to trim some fat from my budget.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i got the same price,so i went through wicked motor sports and saved some cash..your base gaskit is set up to your porting ect...you need to measure you gaskit to get the same one,if not your going to screw up your port job..(nothing is going to match).no gaskit on stator side and in most to all cases i reuse the clutch cover gaskit..take a look at the seals and see what condition there in..it will suck to have to split the cases again for a bad seal. :banghead: .prices are too high on those parts call roger he'll hook you up..

Correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry for all the questions, I just hate being ripped off and told I need stuff when I don't.

Seems like that guy at Trinity was trying to get a feeler for how much I knew so he could rip me off.

I know I need the pistons and O-rings from Trinity but the other stuff I'm gonna order elsewhere.

So far I got:

1. Gasket for the cases (where they split), also the base gasket..Can I buy separate or do they come in a kit?

2. There should be 2 crank seals too, right? Are there any other seals that I should order, or do they all come in a kit?

3. Should I replace the crank bearings, or do they usually last forever?

Anything else I'm forgetting as far as maintainence items when splitting the cases?

Thanks in advance...

no gasket on the cases.use three bond 1211 or 1194.the base gaskit comes separate (custom for your set up)just get a mesurement, in thousands, and call any builder and they should have one.buy the seal in a kit tranny,crank,kicker.... you should have a tz bearing with that size crank,so i think your good with what you have..

Thanks bro.

Looks like I can shave a bill or so off what Trinity quoted me.
