Andy P in WA
Anyone here running the T-5's with just the plain steel finish? If so have you noticed any problems? Do they seem to want to rust up or anything like that? I have to admit, I was looking to go cheap with 2 sets but don't want them deteriorating on me faster than they should!!! Thanks to all
CBAIER1206
You will definately start to see rust spots if you dont take care of them as is also true with chrome pipes, although I imagine they don't start to show signs of rust nearly as fast... bode1
When you say plain steel are they raw and unpainted? If so, can you just clean them with wd40 and scotch bright pads like unchromed pro circuits?
boneyardbanshee.
yup you just need to keep up on them. Even with chrome you need to do maitnence so they wont rust. At least with the raw you can get them to look uniform again. Once the chrome starts to go its gone.
bode1
I wish i'd gotten unchromed now. You let that chrome go for a while and it's a real pain. I'd rather just scrub the shit outta them with wd40

Thanks to all I run them, they look great and yeah just sos if you need too with no harm. Mine do pretty darn good, I oil them down lightly after washing it. Actually I find them to be easier to clean, and not having to worry about scratches and chrome flaking is a plus. Also gives it a mean look, I was just thinking about selling them, interested? PM me. flyRTby
Personally i like the steel finish. looks mean I was looking to buy a set of used chrome or steel finished toomeys and have the ceramic coated! Black, Silver, even a "like chrome" finish. I think that'd be sick! Anyone have good luck or bad luck with ceramic coating? From what i know about car/truck exhaust, ceramic is the sheeit. A local shop quoted me 80-100 bucks per side and i think thats on the high side. I haven't really shopped around but, i'm sure i could find cheaper. Thanks in advance! 278
I have a set and they make High temp clear coats that work pretty good just to stop rust for a while. I just sanded mine and hit them with a black high temp. but Im doing a little custom paint now
