locogato11283
i read a lot of posts where guys are having issues getting their clutches adjusted properly.. or its fine for a long time and then all of a sudden something is wrong.. clutch cables need to be replaced every so often. ive been running the same one for a couple years now, and its stretched a lot.. i just put a new one in and in order to get my clutch adjusted back properly i had to adjust the pancake bearing. this is due to the cable stretching. id say it stretched 1/8" or so.. that may not seem like much, but in the world of adjusting clutches it can be a real pain in the ass. so anyway, just a reminder to everyone. Facetious
What problem were you having that required you to adjust the pancake bearing? Slippage or creeping with clutch engaged and whilst in gear?
Hilarious
What problem were you having that required you to adjust the pancake bearing? Slippage or creeping with clutch engaged and whilst in gear? most likely the clutch not wanting to disengage.

Loco, Help me understand how the cable plays a role in the adjustment of the push rod? I align the lever on the case with the arrow without the cable installed. If the cable is too short or too long, I adjust it with the adjustment screw on the handle bars, or get a longer adjusment screw (i.e. stock) for an aftermarket lever where the screw is too short to have enough adjustment. Maybe I'm missing something? I can definitely see how a stretched or too short (new) cable could be compensated for by adjusting the pancake bearing/push rod, but it would then misalign the lever with the arrow (if it had been previously aligned). :geek:
locogato11283
What problem were you having that required you to adjust the pancake bearing? Slippage or creeping with clutch engaged and whilst in gear? once i installed the new cable, i had to adjust the pancake bearing so that i would still have my adjustment on the perch. otherwise, i had none. okbeast
J/c but which way is the arm pointing towards the arrow. I usually set mine up to where it is a little bit to the stator side of the arrow. I think it helps the clutch to grab more and doesn't creep as much on the line.
