hollisatp Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 I bought a vapor computer which I love! but I recently bought the bar clamps to mount two more lights on the bar, and now I dont have a place to put the computer! I know they sell clamps for the comp itself, and obviously clamps for light mounting, but I cannot find anything that has both!? anyone seen one? or does anyone have a mod they did to keep both? Thanks! Quote

Thanks! I new a guy who made a small plate that mounted to his comp clamp to hold his lites. it was just a aluminum blate with four holes two for the lites and two holes to bolt it to the comp clamp. boneyardbanshee. Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Yes i have seen the mount that holds both awhile back. Not sure what bar size it was for though. give them a call. Quote

Overboost Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I just zip stripped my vapor to the cross bar. no issues. dont look as fancy as the others but it serves its purpose. I also zip stripped the GPS to the other side. and that was the garmin factory kit for the unit. Quote
mark101180 Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 here is what i did and it is really simple and it looks pretty good. i went to lowes and got 2 3" bolts and 2 nuts with the same thread as the nuts in the vapor. then i drilled 2 holes in the crossbar of my handle bars spaced centered and spaced to match the vapor and at an angle that would be easy to see.then i stuck the bolts through the holes threaded the nut most of the way down and then also threaded the bolt into the vapor. i tightened them down into the vapor and then used the nuts to tighten the bolts to the bars. next i put the pad on around the bolts and made a small slice in the cover for the bolts. it looks pretty good. its very functional b/c it can be seen easily and it was really simple to do. the only downfall is that i weakened the crossbar. but i think ill be ok b/c i dont jump or put any kind of added load on the bars Quote

hollisatp Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Posted February 18, 2009 ok.. all I did to fix it quick was to add velcro to the flat part of the clamps then to the back of the comp leaving the screw holes open to screw in at a later date.. Quote
