521 Cheetah rebuild...A few questions....

As far as inframe vs. out of frame drag pipes, I understand that there is a 2 or so hp difference, but is it really noticeable at the track?

Also, do they make heavy duty crank, tranny, and rod bearings; and if so, where is a good place to order?

I have done several top end rebuilds, two and four stroke, but have never actually split the cases and got into the tranny. How difficult will it be for me to put a duneable override in?

Who is a good builder that I can deal with as far as pistons, gaskets, ect. Someone with good customer suport.

Thanxx in advance

in frame vs. out of frame exhaust, you may not feel the difference in your pants but you can see it on a time slip. lol

splitting the cases and installing the override is peaches.

you can visit one of the sponsors here, fast racing. he can head you in the right direction

to get your parts and he's got pretty good customer service.

So will I need to remove all the gears or just some?

No, I meant heavy duty bearings for the crank, rods, and tranny.

That is, if the stock bearings will be insufficient.

I expect 110-120 hp from this setup....I should be safe w/ stock gears and 10mil crank, shouldn't I?

What's the bike going to be used for? As for bearings for the crank a TZ bearing would probably be worth the money for the PTO side, unless you're gonna go to straight cut gears.

I know it's a little off topic, but you can't get a 521 Cheetah. I'm building a 10mil Cheetah myself, and I thought you could get them with a 72mm bore, but you can't You have to get a 73mm bore, which makes it 535. That's what I had to do.

That's not true, there are 10 cheetahs out there with 72, 72.5, 73 bores.

I tried to order one, and Andy at M&M told me that the closest thing that you can get to a 72mm in a PV motor, is 73mm bore.

Trinity originally built this motor 5 years ago. It has an original 72mm bore, as evidenced by the 72 marking on the powervalves.

Anyone else have good feedback for F.A.S.T.?
