Coolhead O-ring composition

I was curious if anyone knows what the higher temp o-rings in the coolheads are made from? The ones around the domes. We are O-ringing a race kart head and need to select the right compound. Anyone? I am leaning towards Viton but not real sure at this point.

You can always go with Kalrez O-rings   Bet you will not like the price though. We have some applications using Viton with good results. There are better choices though.

Viton is what you need for the fire face of the domes unless you are weirdo like a few of us and cut the domes to use copper wire rings.

EPDM will work for the rest of the o-rings in the head.

Color does not matter for this purpose. Viton are available in brown and black.

Word. You can get Viton or it's non-proprietary (bonus points to someone who knows the company who owns the rights to Viton) counterpart in black, brown, grey, orange, red, and fruity blue color.

That might be right. It's either them or Dow. I can't remember off of the top of my head (hence the bonus points offer).

I thought it was SC johnson

Actually it is Dupont. The trademark anyway. The patent is expired but still protected as a trademark name. What is EPDM?
