98_shee
What is a long rod dome? they are cut so the piston can slide in them. so you don't have to run a spacer plate with the long rod crank.
sheefreak
they are cut so the piston can slide in them. so you don't have to run a spacer plate with the long rod crank. I have never heard of someone cutting a dome to compensate for a long rod. You cut a dome to compensate for stroke and run a different piston w/different pin placement to compendate for the extra rod length. And a cut dome is real obvious...there is quite a step cut into it.
dajogejr
They are mistaken.... Piston type makes up the 5mm offset, not the domes. He needs 4 mil stroker domes...the dome is cut 2mm deeper to compensate for the 2mil extra stroke at TDC. Unless he wants to run a 10 mil crank with sleeves...then he could cut the domes 5mm to make up for the sleeves sticking out of the top...but that's another story. Long rod and stroker crank are two separate things, each requiring something different to make them work.
FASTOYS
I carry the 4mm cut domes if i can help give me a hollar.

Corey, you have peaked my curiosity, I bought a banshee in December with the intent of building for spring. I would be very interested to hear what you are going to do to it. I am thinking 4 mil dune port by Herr or FAST. What could you be doing to your 450? It was already one of the fastest i have seen out there. We only have 2 more months, we should hook up on opening day. I cant wait!!

I am excited to see your bike run, let me know when you are going to crapo's, would like to tag along if its ok.
