lowbuckracing
This is what was submitted for the first part of our two part story for the Sand Addiction magazine..Before the raffle and after the raffle.. 1st part.. It all started by cruising the internet one day looking for a little more info for the Yamaha Banshee.I had recently started Drag racing quads and wanted to get a little more involved in the mechanical aspect.I stumbled upon this web site called BansheeHQ.From the moment I got on the site I knew there was something here for me.After a few months of doing some trading and dealing with a few guys on the site I thought there was enough people involved here that we could just build a bike from everyones spare parts. So I threw the idea out there and started my own thread on the web site.It took attention of quite a few people and they immediately started saying lets do this.Well since March of 08 I have been dealing with people as far as NY,Canada,Africa, and all over the United States on this web site sending me parts and getting this bike togother. In trade for them sending me parts I would send them back raffle tickets to try and have a chance to win a fully dressed Banshee.I made it where anyone that wanted to be in the raffle would have to become a premium member on the web site and in return would recieve 10 free raffle tickets just to help the site grow.If people had nothing to send in part wise I thought I would sell tickets at 1.00 each with no limit to buy;but you would also have to be a premi member to help out the site.Everyone was all for it and this has been just growing. The raffle bike will be given away on Presidents Day Weekend in Glamis,Saturday the 14th at 3:00.This bike has really taken on some character since its first day of growth..kinda like Frankenstein with some bling and a nasty 4 mill built by Kevin owner of Herrjugsracing in Escindido Ca.Soon as Kev heard about this build he immediately contacted me and said he would go full throttle on the motor aspect.I knew the frame needed to be something unique and along comes Tim from Stellar Machine and Performance in AZ.I trade a sweet set of tripple buffed haulers to a guy named Blades from back east for a decent frame. He ships it to Tim in Az and starts showing me some pics of what he is doing.Alot of fab work went into this build and now it is really a one off Azcustom!I drive and meet Tim Half way in Az and get the frame from him.I then take it to First Place Powder Coating here in my home town of Banning and tell him what we have going. He also jumps right in on it, Bill and his wife Maria do all the powder coating on this for free,He is now our go to guy for our future projects.Meet a guy named Rubberneck and he send me some fullbore plastics for this build and its really starting to look good.We now have custom grills being made by JDcustoms for the fullbores donated by hq member "Rubberneck". I knew the money I would take in on the raffle tickets wouldn't be much this time since I didnt open this up to the public, or do Sand Sport Shows,or advertise in Sand Addiction Magazine but next year we want to getr done. What we did take in this year will be donated to the ASA and will continue to do so every year as our builds can only get better and this thing keeps growing for the guys involved on the builds. If anyone is interested in getting in on this you can become premi members on the banshee hq and pm me."lowbuckracing".If any big companies wanna get involved for our next build we are looking to do a theme bike.We are looking to build a custom one off bike and need suspension companies, billet covers,Paddle tires, rims, chain, cables, plastics, custom paint,..prizes are always good advertisment to.This bike build for asa funds coming up will be open to the public and I will travel to shows, advertise at the sand drags and do the Glamis runs...So if anyone want to help us out email me at, glamisdaze@hotmail.com Ride safe and always pack out your trash. Thanks from the guys at Bansheehq and The Lowbuckracing Family.....
