Detroit Muscle
Alright I just bought another 'shee yesterday. It's a 2001 and all stock except for works shocks up front, and I think a rebuilt 400ex shock in the back but I'm unsure exactly what it is. It only has about 10hrs or less on a new top end so i want to leave that alone for now at least. I ride in a lot of fields, open trails, and drag. Also plan on duning some this summer at Silver Lake. My last Banshee was a '97 with just pipes so this time I am planning on building it considerably beefier. Bottom Line: I want to put around $1000-$1500 into motor/"go" mods. What should I do to get the most bang for my buck. I want reliability, strength, and to be able to blow my buddies 450r away with no effort. Also want to run it on ~93 octane. I am in the same boat, only my shee will only be ridden at St. Anthony sand dunes in idaho. I cant decide between a 4mil cheetah cub, or a 4 mil with stock cylinders that are ported by a builder. I already have T5's and Vforce3, not sure if the cubs wont reach their full potential due to T5's and stock carbs. Would it like to be a dune and hillshoot bike. Need to run 91 octane. 278
Get a 4mil. stroker with matching dune port on the cylinders puts you at like $850, cool head with cut domes for the 4mil. and an adjustable timing plate, puts you at like 1100, new seals and gaskets bigger carbs and new pipes.... new puts you around 1800, but search around on here for the deals people have and you can find all that for alot cheaper. I hear a lot about Kevin at HJR, I have checked out his website and like what i see so far, He is on my list for work. K&T performance out of Roy Utah is another builder i am considering, have you or anyone else ever heard of them?

If you have 1500 to put into a motor, just wait and do some hunting..I have bought complete 4 mill motors ready to go..Just be patient and a good one will come along. Detroit Muscle
It seems to be that if I want to put that much into it the best way to go would be a 4mil then? Would I have to worry about strengthening the tranny/clutch at all then? I don't know much about what a 4mil exactly is, and/or how it differs from stock. 2001Stroker
4mil, aggressive trail ported stock cylinders, 35mm carbs, Boss intake, coolhead with 21cc domes, timing plate at +4 degrees. That should take care of your $1,500 budget.
FASTOYS
You can easily build a strong runner for 1,000-1500 range. It really depends on what the motor needs for replacement worn parts, and how many "extras" you want on your build as to how much your gonna spend. We have several stock stroke, pump gas, stock carb bikes running very strong! Add a 4mm crank into the mix and you will leave the competition in the dust.
gregrob
K&T builds fast stuff but Kim is a prick. I love my HJR 4mil duner motor. Think I had around 1500 in it all said and done but I already had head, pipes, carbs, etc. Give him a call, cool guy who knows his stuff. This Jeff guy here ^^^ seems to build a few engines too.... Darthwall
ya look for a setup on here or ebay did my 4mill build and it has a ton of more power and I am also running a K&T drag port topend at the moment its not much for the bottom end but get it above 5 grand and you have a hard time steering with stock swinger! also upgrade the carbs I think I did mone for around $1800 but that is more than you need to spend do some research on it and see what you find
Detroit Muscle
This is sounding promising, but what supporting mods might/will I need with this motor setup?
