lambchop
You can see here my son already knows we have our work cut out for us. This is not my first rebuild, but it is my first Banshee. Anything you notice that is of notable concern or noticable? I'm planning on riding'er till we hit triple digit temps here in the AZ. Then me and my son wil take it down and makie it a stone cold sleeper! Anyone have stuff that you see I need for sale? It's a 99'. Only thing I really know about it it besides it runs good is that it has a .25 over bore on it and it needs alot of TLC.

MarineNYC
Just take it slow and look in the for sale section. Over 3 years I have slowly built my shee off this site for a fraction of what it would of really cost. The oinly thing on my shee that I bought new was the tires. You have come to the right place . There is endless knowledge here and great friends to be made.

MarineNYC
It looks a little rough but a little TLC can fix that up real fast. Within a weekend you can have that thing lookin mint. Look in the for sale sections for aftermarket parts and build from there. You have no idea of the potential of the quad. You will be amazed. Good Luck and if you need any help dont be afraid to ask any of us.

Then lighten the flywheel and advance timing. When I do the full rebuild on it I will get to the bigger items. Nice Banshee by the way Marine!! One thing I'm really interested in knowing more about these bikes is suspension setup. Everything I read says that these suspensions are pretty weak. Well, I'm a pretty big guy (230lbs) and the suspension on this really bottoms with me on it. On my bikes I could just put heavier springs on it and a racetech valving, and viola a race ready setup!! My plan is to make this a full blown sleeper. I"m not into bling (as sweet as it looks), but I love pulling up to those boys and having a stock looking setup whoop'em. I will probably ride mostly dersrt trails and dune, but I don't want to be limited to that with my suspension. What I'm getting at is, can you modify stock shocks to perform like the aftermarket ones, or close?
official_style
i have works shocks on my 97, and i have a set i have to install on my 06. drives totally different with the works, stays glued to whatever your riding on. isnt that radiator hose supposed to be flipped around, so the heat guard over the part that comes close to the t5? lilmegill727
for suspension, if your mainly doing trails and there not that tight you can go with some elkas, works duals or tripple rate shocks set-up to how you want them. or if your tight on money you can get some yfz 450 shocks and mod them to fit your shee. also you should get some 2+1 a-arms like wicked, fireball, etc. then you can send your rear shock out to get rebuilt by companies like pro pilot, tcs, works etc. thats set-up to your weight riding style. those mods alone will make it feel like a whole different bike and is definetly worth looking into. but if you dont have the money right this second for some shocks and you keep bottoming with the stockers, you can adjust the preload on the stock ones and make them stiffer so they bottom out less. hope that helped -kevin
