bahlduzzi
I was looking at getting a new chain for my banshee and when I opened up my dennis kirk catalog I found a few differant styles. Can someone please explain to me the differant styles of chains, what makes them differant and what the differant styles are desinged for. I mostly trail ride but I will be going to a few drags this summer. Thanks in advance!!
locogato11283
ive always run the d.i.d. atv chain. always worked fine. has little o-rings to help keep lube in. this would prolly be best for your application. i wouldnt recommend them for the sand as sand can stick to the o-rings causing premature wear on it. i would also stay away from dennis kirk. they are pretty steep on prices.. check this site out. www.rockymountainatv.com cheap prices and very fast shipping. plus they have a great return policy. bahlduzzi
So the O-rings chains are good for trail riding, will I have to oil my chain and if so how often? How about when I drag it, should I switch to the non-O-ring chain? I wasn't really ordering it from Dennis Kirk, just checking out prices. Thanks for the web-site!! Detroit Muscle
You should be oiling your chain right now? And the type of chain he is describing would work fine for you. You will not need to swap it out.

sheefreak
well is not my post but i have a doubt what chain do you recommend for dunes and some drags....for a +10 swingarm! thanks! Jeff at Fast has good high tensile strength non o-ring chain for sale by the foot for a good price. Or you can call Sandtoyz Unlimited and they sell a nice Regina long enough to do up to a +14, just cut it to your app.
FASTOYS
Yes we carry 2 kinds of really strong chain, Non o ring and X Ring. Usually use the X ring for all around/general riding and the Non oring for drag stuff cause its lighter and less resistance.
bahlduzzi
Thanks alot guys!! Like I said I am just starting to ride my banshee, I've only owned it for a month now. So you want me to oil it every time I ride or what? What oil do I use? When I drag it on grass at the local track should I switch it out to the non-o ring chain I have? Or will it nor matter too much?

bahlduzzi
Well, I bought 4 very slightly used chains from a local guy that races at the track here. I only paid $10 a piece for them so I got all four. 2 are o-ring style and 2 are not. I guess I wil run the o-ring and keep the others for spares.
