Bansh-eman
humm never seen this before. Looks like they modified a YZ250 coolhead design and added a heatsink type precooler. Not something that really draws me in. edit: oh and it looks like you have to use thier domes rather then your run of the mill noss/pro design style domes
dajogejr
First I've seen of it...can't say the mini radiator at the back of the head impresses me. Then again, I run a boost bottle..it might get in the way...
2001Stroker
Yea, I seen that a few weeks ago. Someone was asking input about it on HillClimbersForum. I didn't think it would be a good idea having one for trail riding, since mud could get caked up in it. Mud tends to hold heat, and that could possibly make it overheat. shanYE west
looks similar to the rhino heads..
FireHead
It seems to me that there is no reason for the additional parts count......... Beyond that, you might lose some thermodynamic efficiency (trasferring heat to the coolant) with all of the hoses and non-functional fins that are going on there. :geek:
lowbuckracing
Ive ran a prototyype for the 250r atc for him...he is a awesome machinist in moreno valley....All his domes are interchangable also....He does motor porting as well, nice guy.He likes doing the single head for each one so you dont have a uneven surface when you tighten it up.... kbone77
seems as though a single head would be stronger, when one piston is compressing and firing the stress is spread across both jugs, not just the one. if the deck heights aren't the same as mentioned in the previous post-you'd have bigger problems, the compression and port timings wouldn't be identical.. with my experience so far w/ heads, my original stock/milled head was my favorite.. that one head gasket was simpler then all the o-rings i'm f'ing with now on my cool head.. regalrocket
I do like the seperate head design personally. I am not a fan of the goofy "precooler". A simple manifold or hose connections would have been fine for me. Edited January 21, 2009 by regalrocket
njbanshee
I don't like it. I think one solid piece would work best.
dlnoss
I'm not slamming it. It's kind of cool looking except for the finned part. If it does use standard size domes, I don't see how it would work with a Cub or other 68mm bore because it doesn't 'contain' the entire base of the dome. I've seen the Phat heads before for small 2-stroke bikes. -David
