liveordie72089
Ok I just received my banshee from a trade i did for my Raptor 660... I love this bike rode it two times and its QUICK... The bike has been modified by being bored new bigger carbs and everything... The one problem I have noticed is when i was on the road I raced a LT500 and when I got up to speed the bike just started to shake a lot... It seemed if I put strength into holding the bars back with some force of it trying to shake it wouldn't as much... Im not really sure what could do this... I was thinking that maybe It could be one of my wheels that looks like it is facing out more then the other one... Other then that I have no clue what it could be... Do i need a Steering Stabilizer bar or is this just and easy fix... Oh yeah and I forgot I have a Upgraded Gas tank I believe it is 5 gallon maybe bigger... Just wondering if its supposed to run out of gas fairly quick??? Thanks ahead of time...
rubberneck
Shake at speed would most likely be a tire out of round or out of balance. since nobody balances quad tires, I would say could have one out of round, maybe a bent rim. Jack it up and spin them. Look to see if they wobble. AS far as the larger tank. that is a nice mod. they look kind of ugly IMHO, but they make for some nice long run times because yes, a modded banshee is a pig and sucks fuel down fast. CBAIER1206
I agree...I usually set my bikes on milk crates over the off season to keep the wheels off the ground so that the tires don't get flat spotted but forget to do that to my wifes bike this last year. Needless to say when I was tuning it on the first ride this year there was a wobble at speed. Only way to fix I believe is to get new tires...I would start with the fronts first and see if it goes away because they seem to be the most prone. liveordie72089
Alright thanks everyone Im guessing it is the wheel I forgot to mention it has a kink in the rim so I guess that is the problem lol... Ill order some new rims or does anyone have a extra set??? Rear and front??? Also the gas tank looks really good on the bike im going to be getting some pictures here soon and well introduce myself... Sorry... Thanks everyone... If you know anyone with some wheels let me know also What wheel do I need??? like size??? Im so clueless...
rubberneck
You might have the 4 gallon tank. they look more stock and dont require cutting the front plastic like the 5 gallon does. I dont like the way the 5 gallon looks but still plan on getting one so I can carry total of 6.5 gallons (including my can on my 6pack rack) for those long rides. My cub drinks fuel as fast as i can pour it in. LOL
liveordie72089
LOL... Yeah I have the 5 gallon it actually doesn't have a plastic on it... Its just the tank but the tank matches the color of the bike and you have to get a different grill... Ill be getting up pics later on... That's a lot of gas lol... I have a 5 gallon race gas tank its pretty sick... You might have the 4 gallon tank. they look more stock and dont require cutting the front plastic like the 5 gallon does.
