banshee motor work

vabanshee

Recommended Posts

Hi , i am new to this forum and i am not sure if i am posting in the right place or not but i need some advice . I have a 2006 Yamaha banshee thats brand new with very low hours & original top end . It has v-force reeds , stock cool head , toomey t-6 pipes which i have learned arent the best for a modded banshee & K& N filter with the power lid . I have friends that has a raptor 700 & a friend with a Renegade 800 both of which are slightly modded with exhaust & filter mods . I want a banshee that will outrun them if possible but i dont want a fully modded banshee that i have to work on all the time . I dont mind running race gas but i want a faster bike with good reliablity & good motor life if possible . I thought about port work alone & possibly changing my dome size on my cool head but would that do enough for me to beat my buddies ? I dont need a top fuel dragster but i would like to have more power on tap . I also wanted to know who does good motor work ?? Once i figure out what to do then i need to find a good builder to send my stuff to . any advice would help , thanks

Get a set of 19cc domes and run 100 octane fuel and see how you like that. 100 octane top ends are a nice "recreation" compression and are relatively easy on the crank, etc. Plus you get a really decent performance increase. Then if you need more check into the porting...

thanks , i thought about giving it some more compression by chnaging the dome sizes etc.. & that will be my next step . I also got a message from someone on here that said to call Jim at Passion racing & he could help me out . I called him a he seems like a nice guy & very knoweledgable . Has anyone on here every had work done by him ?

I have never personally had work done by him but i have saw lots of postings from people that have. My only suggestion would be that pick a builder that is close to were you live at it just makes thing easier down the raod. There is a lot of great builders out there that will do you a great job.

i know what you mean . Its always nice to have a builder that is close by & you can stop by and see whats going on . To me , i want to make sure i find the right builder because that can make or break the deal . I want to find a good builder that does good motor work & a builder that is reliable and does what he says he going to do . I have heard horror stories of people sending there stuff out and not being happy

I agree with that i have heard lots of those stories also. If you tell us were you are located i am sure someone could tell you who is close to you. You really want someone that is going to be there after the build for you. I have heard great things about F.A.S.t and i have heard good things about Passion also. I have personally used Redline Racing and he is a great guy and is always there to answer any questions you might have. There is more out there it really just depends on were you are at.
